Volunteering opportunity

The British Museum’s Department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan is developing a database of ancient Egyptian mummies from the Predynastic to the Coptic periods. It aims at including general information on the mummies and descriptions of the procedure used to embalm them, as well as radiological and pathological descriptions when available.

Volunteers are sought to assist in documenting and populating this database, by collecting information from publications and transferring it into a database. Applicants should have a broad grounding in Egyptology, and a particular research interest in funerary archaeology.

Volunteers are sought for the period of January to June 2019, for at least one month.

Candidates should send an email to Marie Vandenbeusch , along with a CV, cover letter outlining relevant experience, and an indication of their availability.

Contact: Marie Vandenbeusch

Closing Date: 14 December 2018

All job opportunities within the Museum are advertised on the Museum’s website.
