Jennifer Ramkalawon is the curator of Western modern and contemporary graphic art. Her main interests are post- war British and American artists, particularly the work of R.B. Kitaj,  the ‘Young British Artists’ of the 1990s and late nineteenth and twentieth–century art and culture. She was previously an archive assistant at the National Portrait Gallery (1986-1989).

Current projects

Working on an exhibition and catalogue of Maggi Hambling’s works on paper for 2016.

Previous projects

Curator of Kitaj prints, part of the exhibition Recent Acquisitions: Arcimboldo to Kitaj (May-September 2013) to coincide with the publication of the Kitaj catalogue raisonné

Assisted Stephen Coppel (Curator of the Modern Collection) with the exhibition Picasso Prints: The Vollard Suite (May – September 2012); catalogued the prints and complied the catalogue listing for the catalogue.

Co-curated with Frances Carey (former Curator of the Modern Collection), Picasso to Julie Mehretu, Modern Drawings from the British Museum Collection (October 2010- April 2011)

Curated touring exhibition of Toulouse-Lautrec Prints  (organised by British Museum UK Partnerships) which travelled to four venues: Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; MIMA, Middlesbrough; Cecil Higgins, Bedford; National Museum of Wales, Cardiff (2010-2011).

Curated the following prints and drawings displays in Room 90: Cavafy etchings of David Hockney (1991), Prints of Anthony Gross (1994), Anish Kapoor (1997), Tim Mara (1998), Bryan Ingham (2000), Toulouse-Lautrec (2007), Love and Marriage: 18th century caricatures (2009) and the Bromberg bequest of works by Frank Auerbach (2013).
