Sarah Vowles is the Hamish Swanston Curator of Italian and French prints and drawings, and is responsible for a collection that dates from the Renaissance to the late nineteenth century.

She is improving the object records of the database with the aim of providing an accurate, succinct catalogue entry of each work in her field. There is much to be done to achieve this but the existing records are already a formidable aid to researching and studying the collection.

She joined the department in 2014 after working for six years as a specialist in the Old Master Drawings department at Christie’s in London. Previously she studied History at Oxford University and History of Art at the Courtauld Institute.
